About us

Based in the emblematic Camberwell arches, we’re a tiny but mighty crew of four locals who decided to build the kind of coffee space we wanted to hang out in. Think queer‑owned energy, co‑operative spirit, and a whole lot of love for our community. We make decisions together (yes, even the silly ones), and we’re here to keep things fair, friendly, and full of good vibes.

You can read more about our ethos on our Ethical statement, or learn more about the people behind Blackfinger below.

James (he/they) is the founder of Blackfinger Coffee Roasters.

You can spot him working on site pretty much every day (ouch). They like to drink a looooong filter of King Khan (double the caffeine!) any time of the year.

Joe (he/they) is our Roaster who makes the magic happen.

When they’re not talking about or drinking coffee, you’ll probably find them drumming. His coffee choice? In summer, a cold brew with the Thousand Hands. In winter, a long black.

Aida (she/her) is our Marketing & Comms guru.

She likes to wear colourful hair (don’t even try to keep up with the colour changes), and is obsessed with iced oat lattes on a hot summer day. Her roast of choice? Guardian Angel.

Dovy (they/them) is Blackfinger Café's General Manager.

They are passionate about creating environments where people feel seen, heard and valued, bringing this ethos into our space. Their guilty pleasure is a strong King Khan cold brew.
